Access & Accessibility
Healing begins long before the first session.

For many people, the hardest part of therapy isn’t the therapy itself—it’s finding a clinician who understands their needs, navigating insurance, coordinating schedules, arranging transportation, or wondering whether they’ll feel comfortable once they arrive.

At A Key Therapy, we believe access is part of care. We strive to remove as many unnecessary barriers as possible so that your energy can be spent where it belongs: on healing, growth, and meaningful change.

No two people—and no two therapists—are exactly alike. If you need something that isn’t listed here, please ask. We would much rather adapt our care than expect you to adapt yourself.

Telehealth & In-Person Care
Our practice is designed with flexibility in mind.
Many of our clinicians provide secure telehealth services, allowing clients to attend therapy from the comfort and privacy of home. Telehealth is available in every state where the individual clinician is licensed.

Our founder, Lex E. Santí, LCSW, currently provides telehealth services in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Virginia, with additional states and clinicians joining the practice over time.

Many clinicians also offer in-person sessions. Because office locations vary by provider, accessibility features—including parking, building access, waiting areas, and restroom availability—may differ. We are happy to discuss these details before your first appointment and help connect you with the clinician and location that best meet your needs.

Our primary office is located at:
46 Elm Street
Trumansburg, NY 14886

Scheduling Flexibility
Most clinicians offer appointments between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with some providers offering earlier morning, evening, or weekend availability.

If your work schedule, caregiving responsibilities, disability, or other circumstances require additional flexibility, we’ll do our best to help you find an appointment that works.

Financial Access
Everyone deserves access to quality mental health care.

Insurance participation varies by clinician and by state. Some providers accept insurance through Headway and other credentialing networks, while others may offer private-pay services.
Depending on your clinician, services may include:
• Acceptance of participating insurance plans
• Superbills for out-of-network reimbursement
• Sliding-scale appointments when available
• Complimentary 15–20 minute consultation calls to help determine whether we’re a good fit

Because every clinician’s credentials and insurance participation differ, we encourage prospective clients to contact us for the most current information.

Language & Communication
Therapy is most effective when you can express yourself comfortably.

While many clinicians provide therapy in English, additional languages may be available depending on the provider. Professional interpreters are welcome when appropriate, and we are happy to discuss language needs before scheduling your first appointment.

Neurodiversity & Sensory Considerations
There is no single “right” way to participate in therapy.

Many of our clinicians are able to accommodate a wide variety of sensory, communication, and neurodiversity-related needs. Depending on the provider, accommodations may include:
• Soft or natural lighting
• Alternative seating options
• Fidget objects
• Standing or movement during sessions
• Walking sessions when appropriate
• Extra processing time
• Permission to stim naturally
• Note-taking accommodations
• Written summaries or follow-up information
• Water and other comfort supports

Availability varies by clinician and office location. If there is something that helps you feel more comfortable or able to engage in therapy, please let us know before your first appointment whenever possible.

Requesting an Accommodation
Every person’s needs are different, and not every accommodation fits neatly into a checklist.

If there is something that would help you participate more fully in therapy, we encourage you to contact us before your first session. Whether your needs involve mobility, communication, sensory preferences, technology, scheduling, or something else entirely, we’ll work with you to determine the best path forward.

Website Accessibility
We are committed to making our website increasingly accessible to all visitors.

As A Key Therapy continues to grow, we are actively improving our website to support recognized accessibility standards, including keyboard navigation, alternative text for images, readable typography, strong color contrast, responsive design, and captioning for multimedia whenever possible.

If you encounter difficulty accessing any part of this website, please let us know. Your feedback helps us improve access for everyone.

Our Philosophy
At A Key Therapy, we believe accessibility is more than compliance—it is respect.

Every person arrives with a different history, different strengths, and different obstacles. Good therapy recognizes those differences instead of asking people to leave them at the door.

Healing happens when people feel welcomed, understood, and supported as they are. That means creating spaces that are flexible, responsive, and willing to adapt. It means listening before assuming. It means recognizing that what makes therapy accessible for one person may look very different for another.

When barriers are removed, people are freer to do the work that truly matters.
