Coaching is educational and goal-oriented. It is not psychotherapy and does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions.

The distinction
What is Coaching?
Coaching is designed to help you create change, not just cope with challenges. It is future-focused, goal-oriented, and collaborative.
Coaching is a collaborative process designed to help you move toward a desired future with greater clarity, intention, and accountability.
While psychotherapy often focuses on healing emotional wounds, reducing symptoms, and treating mental health concerns, coaching is designed to help individuals clarify goals, develop skills, and create meaningful change in specific areas of their lives.
At A Key Therapy, our coaching is informed by therapeutic principles but remains distinct from clinical treatment.
Psychotherapy | Coaching | |
|---|---|---|
Past, present & future | Future-focused | Focus |

Clinical | Educational | Approach |
Insurance may apply | Cash-pay | Payment |
Diagnosis & symptom treatment | Performance, growth & life direction | Best For |

Coaching is not a substitute for psychotherapy, crisis services, or medical treatment. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please seek immediate help.

Meet Your Coaches

Lex E. Santí, LCSW
Narrative & Mindfulness Coaching
"I believe that the stories we carry shape how we move through the world."
My coaching work is grounded in narrative practices, mindfulness, and contemplative psychology. Together we explore the patterns, beliefs, and assumptions that may no longer serve you and create intentional pathways toward greater clarity and purpose.
This work is particularly helpful for individuals navigating transition, seeking deeper meaning, or wanting a more intentional relationship with themselves and others.
